Read on to learn about the establishment and growth of the Youth Advisory Council

The #Youth Advisory Council has been an integral part of our organisation since its launch at the International Consultation of Child Helplines in London in 2014. Currently #Youth consists of motivated young members from all around the world. Since their appointment, our young representatives actively contributed to the success and well-being of their generation.

Building on plans made in 2011 and 2013, we celebrated the launch of the first global Youth Advisory Council at the International Consultation of Child Helplines in 2014, where they launched the Free Our Voices campaign. Since then,  #Youth has been actively contributing to the success and well-being of their generation through lots of projects and events. As a result of great progress made, in September 2015 a European subdivision of the Youth Advisory Council became operational and in 2016, an Asia Pacific sub-group, also started its membership. Currently we have #Youth members from all over the world on board. They are focused thematically around issues like child online protection, gender equality, youth participation and the SDGs, and they all bring the experiences and skills they gain through their involvement back to local and regional levels.
