Cathryn Anila, Malaysia

Cathryn started her journey as a child advocate at 11 years old, when she attended Childline Foundation’s advocacy facilitator training in 2012 in Kuala Lumpur.

Since then, she has actively participated in many child advocacy programmes and events both locally and internationally. After finishing high school in 2017, together with some friends, Cathryn set up an NGO called Vanguards4Change.

Vanguards4Change is a team led by young people ranging from the age of 10 to 21 who act as vanguards to change the world into a better place. They focus mainly on child rights advocacy and digital resilience.

As part of Child Helpline International, Cathryn is looking forward to accompany and empower more young people in this process of raising awareness on child rights, digital resilience and moral responsibility.
