Smithy is… Out Now!

John Swain’s new novel Smithy is… is brutally insightful and hard hitting, and crucial to the issues that young people continue to face today. And, what’s more, the author has kindly offered to donate royalties from the sale of his book to Child Helpline International.

Smithy is… tells the story of a boy growing up in Leeds, a northern town in England. As he progresses to adulthood he deals with many disturbing issues, including mental abuse, sexual abuse, bullying and racism. What is especially appealing is that it is written in a way that will almost certainly appeal to a younger audience, completely resonating with the teenagers of today.

Author John Swain was born in Pontefract, Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom. He was Professor of Disability & Inclusion at Northumbria University, and is now an established writer with several published books to his name. We are honoured and delighted that John has chosen Child Helpline International to benefit from the sales of his book.

Smithy is… is available now, in print and digitally from leading online bookstores. So, if you’re looking for something to read in the coming weeks, look no further – and you’ll be supporting our work at the same time!
