9th International Consultation of Child Helplines

Held in Toronto, Canada from 6 to 8 November, and hosted by our child helpline member Kids Help Phone, the 9th International Consultation of Child Helplines will bring together government officials, ministers, high-level partners and members of the Child Helpline International network from all over the world.

The themes for the 2018 International Consultation are:

  • How we use technology to scale services and to promote inclusion
  • The best use of technology, as well as
  • Technology to protect young people.

We’re thrilled to gathering everyone togther in Toronto, the first time we’ve held this event in the Americas Region. We’ve got a very exciting and timely agenda for our gathering, concentrating on technology and how communications technology can be inclusive and participatory, as well as far-reaching. Children’s well-being is the core of our common mission, and tech in all its uses and manifestations, from telephone to radio, from chat to texting, from email to social media, is at the essence of how we reach children and they communicate with us.

The International Consultation is the opportunity for us to network, to exchange ideas, standards, practices and experiences, and to learn from youth, experts, partners and government officials. We are especially happy to welcome members of Child Helpline International’s Youth Council, and Kids Help Phone Youth Forum – and are eager to listen to their recommendations.

We’ll be updating the site throughout the coming days, so stay tuned!
