She was anxious and frightened and felt she had to talk to her parents all the time on the phone to make sure they were okay. She had anxiety attacks, cried a lot and felt afraid to go out. She called Child Helpline to let her feelings out. The counsellor assured the girl that her reaction was normal and common during abnormal times like that. She also made an effort to calm her down and remind her of her internal and external strengths. In addition, she provided brief guidance to the girl’s father, who was nearby.
