Call for child helpline participants in the European Union

In 2016, our network of child helplines received almost twenty thousand contacts relating to children with disabilities. Children with disabilities are at particular risk of discrimination and social exclusion, leaving them vulnerable to children’s rights violations.

Improved accessibility to societal functions is at the core of realising fundamental children’s rights for children with disabilities. This should also extend to societal support mechanisms such as child helplines. We will, therefore, convene a Community of Practice to fuel a discussion on how child helplines can best support children with disabilities.
