Child Helpline International is the global network of 181 members in 147 countries (updated May 2017). In 2015 alone, our full members received over 20 million contacts from children and young people in need of care and protection. There are two types of membership at Child Helpline International:

Full membership – for existing and established child helplines that comply with Child Helpline International’s membership criteria and requirements.

Associate membership – for organisations aiming to start a child helpline or in the process of establishing a child helpline.

The process of becoming a member of Child Helpline International is guided by the following steps:

1. Fill in application form and send to membership@childhelplineinternational.org, together with the applicable supporting documents.

2. Application requests for full membership are reviewed and approved at Child Helpline internationals bi-annual Supervisory Board meetings, May and November each year.

3. Approval of a full membership is only possible after a visit by a Child Helpline International staff member, Regional/Deputy Representative or Supervisory Board member.
