Titi van der Poel

I was inspired to become a board member of Child Helpline International mainly because of my view that it is very important for children to have somewhere to turn to if they experience problems in their lives. I think Child Helpline International is doing a very important job connecting all child helplines in the world through capacity building programmes and helping countries that are in the process of starting their own helpline.

My aim is to contribute with my financial expertise as Treasurer to Child Helpline International and assure that funds are spent according to its mission statement and goals.

After her studies in Certified Public Accountancy, Titi worked with the government in various positions, among which as Director of Law Enforcement at the Dutch Customs Authority. After leaving the government, she took up the post of Director at the largest academic hospital in the Netherlands. She recently returned from Tanzania, having lived there for a year volunteering at an NGO constructing a maternity clinic. Titi lives with her family in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and has three children, aged 20, 19 and 11.
