31.08.2009Regional Consultation in Blantyre, Malawi
The Fifth African Regional Consultation organised by CHI and hosted by Yoneco Malawi will be held in the Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre, Malawi from 1 to 3 September. About 50 participants from 30 African countries will attend this regional meeting. During the RC the focus will be on child trafficking and the role that child helplines can have to protect children from being trafficked. Also general issues related to child helplines will be discussed, such a regional update on events that have taken place in the past year and plans of action for next year. Additionally, several partners and donors from the regionhave been invited to see the ntwork in action, to build relationships and strengthen existing ties.
Regional Consultations are a platform for child helplines from the region to meet, exhange knowledge and ideas and celebrate the movement of child helplines. The next few months CHI will organise Regional Consultations in each of the five regions. The Regional Consultations for MENA, Americas & Caribbean and Europe will be held in October and November. This round of RCs will be closed with the Asia Pacific meeting in India in January.
